At the end of any project, there will sometimes be a few small things that could either do with some improvement or went unnoticed by myself. We give you 48 hours so that you can inspect the project and make a snag list, 5% of the contract price is also retained by you so that you know we will be coming back to resolve the niggles.
The snag list must be concise and specific. I am not happy is not a snag list, There are a few things that I want you to fix is also not a snag list. A snag lsit must be in writing and sent to me by email. If you send me an email saying when are you going to come fix the kitchen and you haven't sent me a snag list I am going to ignore you.
The format of the snag list should be in the following format.
1. There is a chip on the bottom left of the door on the sink unit.
1. The door to the left of the drawer unit has a scratch on the bottom right.
The 2nd drawer on the pot drawer unit on the left of the stove sticks a little.
I must be able to identify the snags without searching the kitchen because you said their is a scratch on one of the doors.
Once the snags are completed, the job is completed, so inspect thoroughly because I will only come back once for snags. I will only bring the tools I need to satisfy the snag list, so when I get there adding things that need a return journey will be charged for.
Once the job is complete, we will still return to fix things under the terms of our guarantee, Any request for work under guarantee must be in writing, by email and take the format of the snag list. Wear and tear, or abuse is not covered under the guarantee.
